I have been meaning to do this since my solo exhibition finished a month ago....🥁🥁🥁 I have finally added my originals to my website! 🎉 These are the ones that I decided (for now) not to paint over. I still can't believe it, and I'm now patting myself on the back for getting it done! They're no good sitting in the spare room, they need to find their forever home... before it's too late!

Swipe to see a slight close up of my entry 'Living the Dream'. She's got a massive attitude and I love her! She was created especially for the '51st Rio Tinto Yarwun & QAL Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards'. Hope to see you at the opening on Saturday 31st 6pm @gladstoneartgallerymuseum 🥂🍷

I saw this written on a Tshirt whilst scrolling Instagram and I NEED it so bad but can't find it! This is my latest mermaid, and she's been commissioned by @liife_architecture and ready for instal later this month in Yeppoon (you'll see it soon). I've started working on my commissions now, ever since my exhibition finished, and 3 of them are mermaids! I still get asked if I'm sick of painting mermaids. I have SO many ideas for them, they're spilling out of my head and I can't wait to paint them. Of course I'm not sick of them. I fricken love mermaids! Check out my website for some of my favourites that I have made available to you as limited edition embellished prints. If you'd like a commissioned mermaid of your own please note that I will be opening up commissions next year very soon. And if you find the Tshirt that has this on it please let me know 🙏 Thank you!

Have you ever wondered what artists do with paintings that don't sell during their exhibitions? 'Picnic at Lammermoor' is one of my favourites so this one I'll happily hang on my wall to enjoy (until it sells on my website - which won't be happening anytime too soon because I still haven't loaded it onto my shop yet!) Others I will send to my stockists, or donate them to charities, or even gift them to family. And then there's some that I will paint over. Not an easy decision but a necessary one sometimes. Lucky there were many that sold so not many will be sacrificed! If you're interested in this one let me know before I list her. I'm in love with the colours and the calm vibes. Thank you again for coming to my exhibition (if you made it) and thank you for your support 😊

Last day tomorrow! I can't believe how many of you beautiful lovely people purchased my artworks. I am incredibly grateful 🙏 These are some of the ones that have sold so far, and I'm really hoping I get to see them in their new homes (post a pic and tag me!) because I'm going to miss seeing them. I pour my heart into creating artworks and each one was made with the intent that I could keep it to hang on my own wall. Thank you so much for all your support, lovely comments and conversations, it has been a real joy. I will be at @figtreegalleries tomorrow afternoon and I'm hoping to meet you when you collect your pieces after 4pm. And then it will be time to pack everything else up to take home! Some will be painted over, some will be sent to Aspire Gallery, and some will be hung on my walls at home. If there's one that you have your eye on (and if it hasn't already sold) please let me know before it's all over, or pop in to Fig Tree Galleries between 10am and 4pm Friday 25th. Thank you @figtreegalleries for having me! And thank you again to my collectors 🫶 𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘵 Solo exhibition Fig Tree Galleries, Yeppoon Open daily 10-4pm Runs to Sept 25

This has to be the most comfy cane chair ever. Did you ever own a Peacock chair back in the 70s/80s? I did and I loved her! She was the perfect beachy addition to my unit in the Gold Coast in the early 80s. 'Sirens Perch' newly restored with lots of love cushion hand made from re-purposed jeans and felt available at @figtreegalleries 𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘵 Solo exhibition Fig Tree Galleries, Yeppoon Open daily 10-4pm Runs to Sept 25

I woke up this morning thinking it was Wednesday. It wasn't until I got out the shower I thought 🤔 ...wait a minute.... it's Tuesday! How did I miss poor Tuesday? I must have loaded so much into yesterday that it was enough to fill another day. Now that I've gained a day I'll have to make it count. Tuesday Treat Day. That's my logic anyway. Good news is that means there's still 4 days of my exhibition remaining. Have you visited yet? Make your day a Tuesday Treat Day and spend the time browsing a gallery, maybe start with this one! Did you spot his birth certificate? I can't believe I've managed to create the perfect piece of artwork to showcase this man's carefully kept receipts over his years of life. From what started for me as a rare find in an outdoor market years ago (an old cardboard port full of receipts dating back to the 50's) and not knowing what i would do with it, but knowing that I had to buy it, led me to create an artwork of a chair I thought this man would have sat on. Come on in to @figtreegalleries to rummage through his old port, read the story, and view the artwork. These little cuties were fun to create! Which one can you relate to the most? They can be hung, or sat on a shelf, and all their bits are securily attached. Measuring 20 x 20cm they're perfect for the office or home. The one on the bottom right has sold, but the rest are available until the end of my exhibition (except for one of them that I think I'm going to have to keep! I be sneaking a red dot on it this weekend when I'm in next. Can you guess which one?) Half way through my solo exhibition and I'm having such a wonderful weekend chatting to you all! Turns out I'm not the only one obsessed with chairs. Thank you for all your very kind comments and lovely feedback. I'm over the moon! 𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘵 Solo exhibition Fig Tree Galleries, Yeppoon Open daily 10-4pm Runs to Sept 25

I had so much fun creating with a variety of different mediums, some I'd never tried before, which I feel has made for a very interesting exhibition. This little snippet is part of what's in the retail section, which means when you purchase it you can take it straight home with you. I've been bringing new things in on the weekends so make sure you pop in again soon. Thank you to all the lovely people who have purchased from me already, you have been keeping me busy! I love you! I make stuff up as I go, sometimes it will start with an idea in my head, but by the time I start creating it that idea usually transforms into other stuff...mostly weird stuff... and this was one of those times. Sometimes I find that when I have little time to think too much about what I'm about to do, and decide to just put brush to canvas, good things happen and it ends up turning into something I love. "Notes from Above" acrylic and vintage music sheets on canvas framed in ornate gold frame "Drifting and Dreaming" repurposed timber chair from the tip, plywood, and vintage music sheets Pop in to my exhibition soon! I'll be there tomorrow (Sunday) 𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘵 Solo exhibition Fig Tree Galleries, Yeppoon Runs 31 Aug to Sept 25 Open daily 10-4pm

Massive shout out to this wonderful human! I totally forgot to thank my man Pete of @framed.in.cooee at the launch of my solo exhibition. In fact I forgot just about everyone sorry, so I'll be doing the odd post during my time here at @figtreegalleries 🙏 Pete helped me SO much as I raced to the finish line and he didn't bat an eyelid, just did the stuff without a complaint. From stripping paint of an antique chair, oiling another, helping me staple and nail upholstery to framing heaps of extra little pieces of artworks last-minute and printing extras on the day of bump in, and carrying furniture into the gallery. And so much more. Thank you, you're an incredible man and I can't thank you enough for all your support. He's the best, don't you think? I'll be in the gallery over the weekend so pop in to say hi!

"Why do you love chairs so much?" I got asked this question a lot on the launch of my solo exhibition. Doesn't everyone? It's like they're human, they have their own style and personality, and arms and legs! They mix art and function to make your house feel like a home. They're a nice spot to enjoy the view from, or have a coffee and relax or retreat from the world. It was actually my mum that made me realise how many times I'd painted chairs, collected chairs, photographed chairs.... and said to me "You've always loved chairs" after I'd painted what must've been another chair. Have I mum? Turns out she's right. 📷 My lovely friend @j.m.w.w relaxing on her favourite chair, "Lazy Dazey", an antique cane lounge, comes complete with a re-purposed from jeans cushion (sewn by me!) Available during my exhibition only. 𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘵 Solo exhibition Fig Tree Galleries, Yeppoon Ends Friday 25 Sept

@mandydollery has a beautiful new exhibition on that opened tonight at @figtreegalleries titled ‘Take a Seat’. It’s full of Mandy’s trademark quirky humour. Get along if you can! #repost @jess.mckenzie.art

I'm really looking forward to seeing what my new collection looks like all together in the gallery. And I'm also looking forward to seeing you all and having a great night at my opening celebration! 🍷 Are you joining me this Sunday night? I've spent the entire weekend sewing and painting (and eating and washing) and I'm almost there! I can't believe this time next week I'll be having a cocktail somewhere in town celebrating after my exhibition opening. I'm really proud of myself tonight. Tired but feeling accomplished. It was such a beautiful day but I restrained from going to the beach and instead I am now rewarded by admiring my work I've finished today. Satisfying. Hope to see you at my opening! Giving a new life to old jeans has been on my list of things I'd like to do, but I didn't know how to sew. I still don't really know how to sew but after buying a sewing machine and having @sandyhohmann_art show me how to thread a bobbin I think I've managed to create something decent for you!
